10 Spotify Playlists For Work

Music has become an essential component of work-life. From the morning commute to developing that tricky Excel formula, music provides us with the motivation to get through the day. It also helps us to get rid of distractions such as the annoying person that always wants to have chat with you (and keeps on talking forever) or that friend that is somehow available for coffee all of the time.

Recently, Spotify has become the service of choice when choosing the tracks to get us through the day. Their never-ending playlist ensures that you will have plenty of old and new music to choose from. Although we all have our ‘Power’ songs, in most cases it is best to listen to a playlist which will make sure that you leave your phone alone and focus on the task ahead.

We have picked 10 of our favourite Spotify playlists for you below. We have separated them by ‘work-mood’ to reflect the whirlwind that is office life.

Focus

Deep Focus

This playlist will take your brain and give it a good spring clean. Listening to this playlist will feel like listening to the sounds of the universe which is pretty amazing. It is also diverse enough to last a whole day or two which is useful for those periods when you are slammed.

Electronic Concentration

A touch lighter than deep focus but it provides some interesting electronic notes which are slightly more engaging than the previous. Again, it will take your brain to strange and wonderful places.

Motivation

Beast Mode

This playlist is obviously good for lifting weights in the gym, but it can be just as good for work. The mix of rap, trap and other good vibes will give you the energy needed to push through the toughest tasks.

Bass Gaming

If you were to make a playlist of stuff blowing up in intermittent sequences, it would sound something like this. Although it doesn’t sound that appealing, this playlist will wake you up and force you to push hard.

For When You Feel Like Punching Someone

2000s Rock Anthems

The playlist for those extra frustrating days. To be fair you can pick any decade, but our millennial selves have gone for the 2000s.

Life Sucks

Although you may feel angry, the pure sadness of this playlist will provide the empathy to make you feel better. We are not too sure about how this works but it could be something along the lines of two negatives equalling a positive?

Mood Lifters

Guardians of the Galaxy – The Complete Mixtape

We are not too sure if this can be considered a real Spotify playlist but we are going to include it anyway. The blend of old-school songs that are happy and funny in equal measure will definitely bring a smile to your face.

Mood Booster

This playlist essentially mashes together some really awesome pop tunes (including covers) in one playlist for you to enjoy. Although it is a bit cheesy, we have to say that some of the vocals (Grace VanderWaal as an example) on this playlist are amazing.

For When You Want To Feel Smart

Epic Classical

We don’t really know how to describe this playlist other than it sounds really complicated. It will make you feel smarter and more focussed all at once, a good go to.

Any International Playlist

It is a fact, listening to music in another language automatically makes you a bit smarter. We are enjoying Brazil Beat at the moment but there is plenty of options to keep you interested.

So there it is – a ton of great music to keep you going during the workday. Any suggestions? Drop them in the comments below.

Until next time,
Nathan
